Winchester Great Hall
The Great Hall at Winchester is the home of a Round Table which has been carbon dated to the 13th century. It measures 5.5m in diameter and weighs over one ton. When first constructed it stood on twelve legs and was hung on the wall till1348.It was repainted in Henry V111 reign in 1516. The Tudor rose was added and the figure then had a resemblance to the young Henry.. The figure of King Arthur is at the top and the names of 24 knights surrounds the table. It is well worth a visit the Hall dates from 1222 and the stained glass windows have the shields of prominent knights from English history.
