Sir Walters Scott wrote
Quentin Durward in 1823 not as well known as Ivanhoe
and Rob Roy, both film and television film makers favorite. But this was the script
that went into production for the 1955 film staring robert Taylor, This was to
take him to the MGM studios in England for the fifth time in as many years.
Teaming up with director Richard Thorpe again after the recent success of
Ivanhoe and Knights of the Round Table. Giving them another great hit.
This 15th century swashbuckling story was filmed on location in England
and France with a wonderful British supporting cast ,which included the beautiful
Kay Kendall, sadly dying of leukemia only a few years later.
