Knights of Avalon

Peter Cowan

For those of us who are members of the Britains Collectors Club Peter Cowan is well known for those informative articles in the The Standard.

He has now given us some of his knowledge of the plastic and lead knight in his new book " Toy Knights - The Other 100Year War "

Peter's bespoke individually made knights and his Fleur-de-Lys figures are prized and collected worldwide. They are made from original Britains Knights of Agincourt castings from the 1960's which are ingeniously converted and remodelled. The resulting figure is then painted after painstaking research in heraldry of the 100 Years War period

The Above Sir Robert Fitzsimon shields The Black Prince with the Wyvern Standard at Crecy is a piece which should be seen in the flesh. Photographs do not do this model justice, it is a lovely example of Peters work full of movement beautifully exicuted.
