Knights of Avalon

Lancelot- Raised by the Lady of the Lake, Lancelot becomes King Arthur’s best and most chivalrous knight. He becomes Guinevere’s champion, and soon the two start a love affair, which leads to Arthur’s fall. Lancelot marries Elaine and fathers Galahad, who later goes on to find the Holy Grail. Elaine dies of a broken heart when she learns of Lancelot and Guinevere’s love affair. After the affair is revealed Lancelot flees Camelot, but returns to save Guinevere from being burned at the stake. Arthur goes to war against his one time greatest knight, but returns to Camelot to put down Mordred’s rebellion. Lancelot is the central character in many of the King Arthur legends, sometimes playing a greater role than the king himself. Lancelot is always attributed with being the best and bravest of all the knights referred to by some authors as "the best knight in the world". However, he is flawed by his love for Guinevere, and this sin proves to be his undoing. Some scholars argue that it because of this sin that Lancelot is not chosen to find the Holy Grail, the task being passed on to his son
