John Hill toy knights  

John Hill & Co  Britannia Row, Essex Road, London 

Founded in 1906 by F H Wood. Company Trade mark was Johillco

John Hills knight range as below is dated mid 50's.

The mounted Knight was produced both before and after 1939/45

Mostly approx 54mm scale . all production ceased in the early 60's.

In 1953 John Hill produced an exclusive set " Medieval Knights" for Aimcee Wholesale Corp. New York. containing four mounted and eleven foot knights. They differed from the standard production range in colour.

In 1951 John Hill reissued their Roman chariot and marching Roman soldier as a presentation box set to coincide with the release of the Quo Vadis film, staring Robert Taylor. Who was to go on too play Sir Lancelot in the MGM film film of the Knights of the Round Table.
