Hello and welcome to
my toy knight and King Arthur legend pages |
|
|

|
The
portrayal of King Arthur, Lancelot, Gawain, Percival, and their comrades
as toy lead knights by Timpo, based on the 1953 MGM film" The
Knights of the Round Table", captured my imagination as a
child. It thrilled me
to be able to create my own adventures for the legendary knights
fighting for the throne of England against Mordred, or some other evil
that threatened our shores. So started my own collecting adventure. |

|
| My reference books on lead figures were always well use,
but many times I found them lacking, the photographs were sometimes poor
quality often too small. Knights of Avalon was created to give
collectors bigger better images, I add to this site constantly, all area
get new pictures when they become available, often thought fellow
collectors generously sending me pictures from their collections . |

Arthurian
Legend. I have a great love of
King Arthur and all collectibles, films,
stamps, coins, china etc connected with this legend and naturally
there is a list of model
Arthurian Knights past and present
I think are worth collecting. |
 |
My
history interests. Simon
de Montfort. As
I born was in Warwickshire I have always had an interest in this fascinating owner of
Kenilworth Castle. I don't construct many model knights but because of the
lack of commercially available knights he is one of my favorite subjects.
We are also very lucky in having a very active Simon de Montfort
Society in Evesham the site of his last battle in 1265. |
 |
Other Lead and toys.
Although my collection passion is now mainly confined to toy knights
over the years I a put together a large almost complete set of lead wild
west figures from the British Manufacturers these have also now been
joined by various military and civilian figures. |

I hope you enjoy my site, please let me know,
I'm always glad to hear from fellow collectors.
