Knights of Avalon

Doran toy knights

The knights featured on this page were the collaboration of Ernest Doran and the now legendary Heraldic Knight maker Richard Courtenay for a short time at the end of the 1920's early 30's. Doran A E sold the Knights as boxed sets "Knights in Battle"  8 figures , "Knights Dismounted" 7 figures and "Knight with Spearmen".

The Figures below are a selection from the above sets. Although these 45mm lead Toy Knight  figures don't compare with the exquisite Courtenay Heraldic  Knights witch now command auction prices starting at $600 for the simplest, they do have a beauty of design all of their own and I love collecting the many different paint variations.
