Knights of Avalon

Britains Knights of Agincourt.
Britains Knights of Agincourt this 54mm series of metal knights is a fabulous set of figures designed by Selwyn Smith.

So many manufacturers of model figures produced knights, some to remember heroes or events in history, this Britains range looked to the Battle of Agincourt fought on the 25 October 1415.

The models 10 in all, were originally designed and manufactured in 1951 by Roy Selwyn Smith for sale in the USA. They  were issued as named Knights, most models with a few exceptions correctly painted. but sadly with the death of Otto Gottstein his business partner the moulds were sold to Britains.

The figures were modified and issued as the Knights of Agincourt in 1954, but lost none of their design brilliance and must rate as one of the best sets of knights ever produced.

No Knight collection would be complete without some examples.

Look for the gold Armour knee plates on the Agincourt models ,as this denotes the first production models, this being omitted on the later versions as a cost cutting exercise.

Please see Roy Selwyn Smith for original look.
