Arthurian

Arthurian Toy Knights, Arthurian Heraldry and Collectibles

My Arthurian pages came from a love of Arthurian literature. Little did I know when I read my first Le Morte d'Arthur picture stories, that there were so many more stores to the legend. Enormous as is Sir Thomas Malory's edition, what remained on the cutting room floor is enough to fill many more editions.

My interest in the Arthur legend is both factual and romantic. Whether he did exist is no  matter, the literature that his name has produced is the bonus.

The two book illustrations above by Harry G Theaker and  N C Wyeth show the wealth of art and romantic interpretation that is formed from the texts.

As you will have see from other pages on my site, collecting the various Arthurian toy knights got my collecting bug started for other Arthurian things, crazy I know , but great fun. So please take a look at the various collectibles I have from plates to comics. If you have anything to add to my list, let me know, perhaps we can put it on these pages.

Bibliography for the Arthurian section

Not a complete list, as its is being added too all the time.

The reference books I have collected over the years fill many shelves, but the editions below are well thumbed, I recommend them all. Some are out of print, but I suggest you hunt then down.

This list of mine is so out of date I will be listing more. The books on the world of King Arthur grows every month, they are all worth reading with few exceptions.

They are in no order, but just as they stack beside my desk
