I don't collect many
contemporary knights, but sometimes, you come across a model which stops
you in your tracks. This is not just a single model, but a carefully constructed
and finely painted range, at a very reasonable price. Very Collectible.

mounted Enguerrand V1 de Coucy

The models depict named individuals who fought
in two great English victories against overwhelming French Armies at the Battle
of Crecy 1346 and the Battle Poitiers 1356
Both series are in 54mm scale, All
the figures in both ranges are accurately dressed, with excellently researched
heraldry.
The Poitiers range is made from
multi-part castings which allows for some swapping of arms and Armour on the
variety of bodies. This not only allows you the pleasure of single pieces but
because of their diversity can create perfect models for large battle dioramas.

Sir Thomas Beauchamp Earl of

| The Battle of
Poitiers. This is an enormous range of individual figures at my last count numbered
it numbered 65 allied and English knights
with 79 French and allied knights. |
One of the interesting feature's for me is the near perfect scale moving visor, reminiscent of
the old Timpo Knights, but these knights are in a different league. Named
knights from two important battles from British history created by a modern
day sculpture and heraldic artist in the Courtenay tradition. For me these
are the finest modern figures in the UK you can collect. |

Based on the well known illustration this figure is of the
romantic jouster supreme who devoted his life to the service of "
His Lady", an older woman who did not seem to share his enthusiasm
for the relationship .
Born at the beginning of the thirteenth century his
obsession led him to take on all comers in an effort to win her favor,
Once when injured he was so incensed at her apparent disinterest that he
cut off one of his fingers and sent it to her, this seems gleamed some
grudging respect |

| I like this figure very much, it also shows Keith's
wonderful painting and model design skills |
